We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and are currently looking for a family car. Budget is 20k and we would like to get a 12 Reg minimum. Trying to get 3 car seats to fit comfortably across the back is quite a task so we are looking at 7 seaters. In terms of practicality, reliability, cabin space and boot space which of the following cars would you choose? We want to comfortably fit in the kids in the middle row and still have space in the boot for buggys, shopping etc. The cars we are looking at are; Toyota verso, Ford S-max, Peugeot 5008. Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi Leonard,
The S-Max is the biggest car you’ve mentioned, so go for that if space is your ultimate need. It’s also really good to drive and quite handsome too. The Toyota wins the reliability race, hands down (nothing goes wrong with them, basically), but it is slightly smaller and tighter than the S-Max. The 5008 splits the difference – not (quite) as reliable as the Toyota, but only slightly smaller inside than the S-Max and still pretty good to drive. Toyota is the safest best for long-term ownership though.
