Which estate to go for with €10,000?
Have in and around 10,000 to spend,needs to be big enough and reliable for a small family,looking at a c class,Aventis or megane estate. Am I looking down the right/ wrong path

Yes – an estate is exactly the right choice for a small family and much better than an SUV (cheaper to run to start with). A C-Class Estate would be lovely (albeit not all that roomy in the back), but it’ll be pricey to buy and service, and you’ll probably have to go for an older model. The Avensis is a very good choice – roomy and hugely reliable, and it’s worth looking at the Mazda6 Tourer, Ford Mondeo Estate or Opel Insignia Tourer too. The Megane Tourer is actually quite nice, but it’s smaller than the others so you need to bear that in mind.
