Which car to swap my Tucson for?

Hi I am driving a 2022 Hyundai Tucson hybrid but bored of SUV type and want to move to a nice new saloon possibly BMW would like to keep monthly payments between €500 &€550 equity of aprx €20000 in the Tucson. Thanks in advance for your advice

Our answer:

Hi Mark,

You've not mentioned what kind of driving you do and how many people you need to carry. I'm assuming you don't need a massive car. BMW has an offer on its excellent 330e at the moment that comes in at €565 a month with a €17,771 deposit, though obviously that only works for you if you can plug the car in regularly at home or work. The petrol and diesel 3 Series models are similarly priced. The 5 Series is out of your budget.

Depending on the deal you get, you might stretch to an Audi A6, which is obviously bigger than the 3 Series. An A4 would be in budget too, though there's a new A4 coming late this year in case that bothers you.

The impressive Mercedes C-Class and E-Class are likely to be both out of your budget, unfortunately.

How about the Volkswagen Arteon as an alternative to the default premium marques? Volkswagen has a good finance calculator on the website and even the top-spec diesel (R-Line 200hp auto) is within your budget with a deposit of €18,910 and monthly payments of €551. We'd be tempted by the gorgeous Shooting Brake version, though it's more expensive of course. There are a few diesel engine options and two trim levels. The plug-in model is out of budget though.
