Hi Shane, you helped me buy our last car and I really value your advice. I now have a 151 Toyota Rav 4 - 2L diesel, which we love. We have 2 children and love the boot space and leg room. However we do find we only really do short journeys but am always on the road so feel it's not that economical. We do love the height though, so cant imagine going with a car. Can you please advise what vehicle would be best to suit our families needs and pocket? Should I get much for a 151? NCTd till 2021. Ta.
Hi Michelle,
Your Toyota should still be worth between €16,000 and €20,000, nearer the latter figure if lower than 100,000km and/or a high spec as well; expect trade-in values to be between €13,000 and €17,000 as a result. If you’re not doing mega-miles, then you can quite easily look at a petrol or a hybrid… which ultimately leads us right back to the current Toyota RAV4. The latest model, launched this year, is really good and only available as a hybrid version. Alternatively, you need to be looking at any of the current crop of mid-sized crossovers and SUVs, like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Karoq, Audi Q3, BMW X1, SEAT Ateca, Peugeot 3008, Renault Kadjar, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5 (or the new CX-30), the Kia Sportage or the Hyundai Tucson.

Ask us anything motoring related and please provide as much information as possible so we can give you the most accurate advice.
