You don’t need to look any further than the three you’ve mentioned, really. Your annual mileage makes you a prime candidate for a diesel, so don’t be put off by recent alarmist stories about this fuel – all the cars you’re looking at are the latest, cleanest machines so they should be fine to buy. We’d steer towards the two Skodas, which will feel familiar after your time in the Passat, and if the Superb works out as good value then that’s what we’d go for. See the Karoq as a decent second prize if the Superb doesn’t work out.
