Hi. I'm looking for some car buying advice please. Budget is up to €25,000, max €30,000. Up to 5 years old. Use will be light, so fuel should be petrol or hybrid. Ideally with a nice spec like auto and leather. A decent sized rear view camera would be great. I'm thinking along the lines of Audi A2, A3 Saloon, BMW 3 Series, 2 Series Active Tourer, VW Golf, VW T-Roc, Mazda CX-3. Kia Niro is not premium but could work. Reliability is important, as is visibility. Car should not be too low down. Are there any other models you would consider? Thank you.
Hi Tony,
You’ve got a good shortlist there and most of those should come with a rear-view camera, if you get the right spec. Admittedly, you won’t get a five-year-old Audi A2, or one with a reversing camera, as they stopped making those in 2005! Do you mean an A1, or a Q2? Either way, they’re fine cars but there are better options on your list. We’re big fans of the CX-3, provided you don’t carry more than one tall passenger on a regular basis, as rear-seat space is cramped. Also, the petrol models don’t have turbo engines so they can feel like hard work to drive, but it’s a lovely-looking thing with a great chassis.
However, from this lot, the two we think you should focus on are the A3 Saloon, one of the nicest three-box designs Audi has ever done (though not available with a reversing camera), and the youthful T-Roc; this comes with an array of superb TSI petrol engines and should suit your needs well, especially when it comes to the car not being too low down.
