Question : Which used car for low insurance? Hi, I'm a new driver ( been issued Learner license) and wish to buy a used car. I would like to know what type of car should I got for initially ( for next 2 years) in order to get a minimum insurance. If you asked me personally, I would like to buy a premium car, may be Audi A4 ( 2010-2012 model, and below 150k kms ran) but I'm worried that could cost me a huge insurance. Appreciate your assistance. Thanks Response: Hi Pravin, I'm afraid you're going to have to aim a lot lower if you want anything approaching affordable insurance. The insurers generally ramp up the premiums for new drivers on anything with an engine larger than 1.2 litres in capacity. And prestige brands will do the same thing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks Shane for your answer. Highly appreciate it. Can I request you to let me know which car explicitly should I start looking for ? My budget is up to 5000 EURO initially and wish to get low insurance if possible. Also what is the good and reliable platform to search for the cars.
Hi Pravin,
The best place to look is right here on Carzone.ie.
We've searched the database using a maximum €5,000 budget and an engine size no larger than 1.2. Our favourites in the results include a few Ford Fiestas, Skoda Fabias and Renault Clios, but I suggest you do the same search to find something you like the look of. If you are happy to go smaller with the car you'll get a newer model.
