Which 2008 SUV to go for?
What would you recommend as a good 4x4 with low tax, around 2008/2009 year

It depends on whether or not you actually want four-wheel drive (which pushes up weight and fuel consumption and therefore emissions) or a front-wheel-drive car with 4x4-ish looks. The best, in either case, are the Skoda Yeti, Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda CR-V or Kia Sportage.
