I’d recommend getting it taxed right away, as even if you’re not planning to put it on the road right away, you will be charged for tax unpaid plus a penalty, which will only get worse. The alternative is to register it as off the road for a period of time, but that’s a complicated process and it might just be easier and cheaper to put a tax disc on now.
