When to work on a 2014 SEAT Leon?

Looking at buying a 2014 seat Leon 1.6 dsg model, when will it need the timing belt changed as it has done 75k and will the gear box need to serviced? If so at what mileage and approx cost for the 2? Thanks

Our answer:

Hi Damola,

I'm assuming you mean the 1.6 TDI model. In normal use, the timing belt must be changed every 210,000km regardless of time, though if the car is used in a dusty environment that interval drops to 120,000km. The work should take no more than four hours.

As for the DSG transmission, this needs its oil and filter changed every 60,000km regardless of time. This shouldn't take an hour.

Prices for doing this work will vary wildly depending on the garage you go to, their hourly labour rates and the source of the parts needed.
