When to change the belt on my Focus?
I have a 2011 Ford Focus 1.6 TCDI style Zetec diesel car with 140500km on it. It was registered in February 2011. When does it need a timing belt change...when i bought it the car salesman said it needed replacement at 160000km. I dont want to leave it too late.

Hi Mark,
The interval depends on a few things. A brand-new generation of the Focus was launched in 2011. If your car is the older one, then the belt must be changed every 200,000km or 10 years, whichever comes first.
If you have the new-shape car, then the interval is 140,000km or 10 years if the car was built up to July 2011 or 180,000km or 10 years from that date on.
