When to change Peugeot 508's belt?

when should I change the timing belt on Peugeot 508 from 2013 was advised 5 year or 140.000km but this sound wrong accouding to what I could find online on other cars.

Our answer:

Hi Ricardo,

You have not specified the engine, so we're assuming it has the most popular one, the 1.6-litre diesel. The official data is a little confusing, as the interval depends on the build date of the engine itself. It's always 10 years and then either 165,000km, 175,000km, 180,000km or 240,000km depending on when the engine itself was manufactured. We'd always urge readers to err on the side of caution when it comes to timing belts.
