When to change my Passat's belt?
Hi I have recently purchased a Volkswagen Passat 2011 1.6 TDI bluemotion. It has 116000miles, the timing belt has not been changed, what is recommended mileage or km I should have the timing belt changed? And what would an average price for the replacement? Thanks in advance Sean Murphy

Hi Sean,
The belt should be changed at least every 210,000km regardless of time.
We don't like to quote estimates for work done, however, as labour rates vary massively from garage to garage, and even parts prices can vary depending on whether OEM components are used. Our advice is to shop around. It should be quite easy for a garage to quote you for this work over the phone.
