When to change my Audi's belt?

When to change my Audi's belt?

2015 AUDI A4 2.0 TDI SE TECHNIK ULTRA 16 163PS Am I right in assuming that I do not have to change timing belt (toothed belt) until 210,000 km (133,000 miles) - this is the information provided in the Audi Service Schedule. I have been told one should get it changed after 7 years regardless of mileage, I had also been told that it needed to be changed at 100,000 miles It would be great if you could provide some clarity. Thank you.

Our answer:

Hi Dermot,

The information we have is 210,000km regardless of time. Nonetheless, there's no harm changing a timing belt earlier than in the schedule as a precaution.
