When I should pay the VRT when I am buying either a used or a new car?
Hi Hazem,
If you’re buying a new or used car from an Irish dealership, you don’t have to pay the VRT separately — it’s already part of the price. You only need to pay VRT separately if you’re importing a vehicle from outside the state. In that case, you have seven days from the vehicle’s arrival here to notify the authorities and then 30 days to complete the inspection and payment process.
