Both are excellent, but very different choices and are about the same when it comes to reliability. Both need to be checked carefully for electronic issues but mechanically they're both solid choices. 

 

The Volvo is obviously the more practical choice (and in fact the one to go for is the V60 estate - it's better looking by far) and has a gorgeous interior. The Audi is more sporty to drive, arguably better looking again, but it's quite cramped in the back.
