I'd suggest you do not drive the car any further until that issue is remedied as it could be causing expensive damage. An obvious place to start is the timing chain itself. If the work was done by a garage, then bring it back there for them to sort it out. If you did the work yourself, you may have to start stripping everything back to find out where the problem is.
