What's up with my Peugeot?

Hi .. I have a peugeot 406 1800cc 110hp model 1997.Its thermostat opens and operates at 83 degrees.Water pump and refrigerator have been changed and while it moves its temperature is 78 degrees. Standing or uphill the temperature reaches 97. At 97 degrees operates a fan at the maximum speed while at 100 degrees operates and the second in slow speed. Is it possible that the coolant valve does not properly command the fans to operate? The fans and their fuses / relays are operational. Thank you

Our answer:

Hi Kostas,

If I understand you correctly, the two-speed fan isn't quite working as you'd expect. Could it be wired the wrong way around? I'd recommend you take the car to a good mechanic to sort this out as it's probably not a major issue.
