Hi Shane I have a Vauxhall mokka (1.6 Cdti Exclusiv) with a 152 reg and having done about 38k miles. For the last couple of months, every time I start the car, it shows 'code 89' on the dashboard. Had the car serviced a few weeks back, but this has also not resolved the problem. The car is otherwise working fine. Just that the dashboard displaying code 89 everytime I start the car is frustrating. Pls can you advise on this.
Hi Puneet,
Unless you specifically ask a garage to plug a car in and read its diagnostic codes it's unlikely to be done as part of a normal service, I'm afraid.
If that code is part of the engine management diagnostic trouble code array then it may mean there's a performance problem with the fuel pressure regulator, though that's surprising if you have no issues with the car.
Best to bring it back to the garage and ask them to check.
