What's up with my Land Rover?

Hi, I have a land rover defender with a discovery 3.9 v8 engine 1998 model and it runs great but every while it just turns off after driving it and stopping on a traffic light as for an example.... Resently I've been advices by the mechanic to adjust the air flow by my self after he just lost hope in dealing with the problem..... As so I've been trying to get to the exact required adjustment with no use. Please help me and I'll really appreciate

Hi Bashar,

Before you do that, it might be worth taking a look at the two-part data link connector. It is a known weak point that causes misfire and stalling like you are describing. What's more, the fix is simply to clean it out, make sure the connectors are mating properly and then hold it together tightly with a cable tie.
