What's up with my fuel gauge?
Last weekend driving my diesal gauge showed just below quarter full and fifty miles on dash but my garage found no diesal and my car stoped on the road

That is incredibly annoying - and hopefully not too costly to repair. It sounds to me like the fuel level 'sender' in the tank could be stuck or sticking, giving you a false reading at times. Best to get the garage to replace it.
