Hello Bought a 2011 from a private seller from Belfast in August. Its been in the garage for 2 weeks in total. Engine light came on after 1 week and it goes into limb mode. I replaced DPF sensor, NOx sensor lambda, fuel rail and rods and it still goes into limb. Mechanic thinks it could be the fuel pump. He did say there is a small motor attached to the back fuel pump that looks rusty. My mechanic says he noticed glassy specks in the fuel filter and sediment at bottom of filter. Any ideas?
Hi Anthony,
You've not told us what car this is so we're going to have to give you very general advice here. Limp home mode can be caused by dozens of different things. Plugging the car into a diagnostic computer to get the error codes would be the starting point - and I'd be surprised if your mechanic didn't do that first. There's no point spending money on changing components until you get a clear picture of what's causing the issue from the car's computer.
