Hi, my name is Tomas. I have 2015 Nissan Pulsar 1.2 petrol, manual transmission. In the last couple of weeks I have noticed a strange rattling noise (metal on metal) when accelerating, coming from under the front of the car. The best I can hear it when the radio & fan is off, window(s) pulled down and the traffic around is quiet (no loud noises). I can also hear it with the windows closed. This is happening when the car is still cold and not fully warmed up. After approx. 5 min of driving (depends on the outside temperature) the rattling noise is not really noticable and is hard to hear it. Oil level checked and it's OK. Could you please advise. Thank you
Hi Tomas,
A light metallic sound like that could be a faulty catalytic converter, which is part of the exhaust system. That said, it's impossible for us to diagnose a specific car from afar so the best thing is to get it down to your local Nissan dealer to get it checked out.

Ask us anything motoring related and please provide as much information as possible so we can give you the most accurate advice.
