It depends on what kind of size of hatchback you want, and what exactly you mean by a ‘boy racer’ look, but actually the best one might just be the SEAT Mii – it’s tiny but useful, has a terrific little 1.0-litre engine (50mpg all day long)  and can be specced with all manner of nice alloys, body kit and stickers to give it that sporty look. Well worth checking out.
