You've not told us your budget, but any similar sized vehicle with a diesel or petrol engine is going to cost more or less the same on motor tax. To bring that down substantially then you'll need to consider a more efficient vehicle - either downsize or see if you can afford a plug-in hybrid or electric model. There are likely to be plug-in hybrid options more than electric. If you come back with your budget we can try to narrow down the search.
