What will I do with my Range Rover's suspension?

I have a 2001 Range Rover; it has a suspension problem: it does not raise up when it starts. What will I do?

Our answer:

Hi Clem,

Bring it to a Land Rover dealer, or a very good independent mechanic. The air suspension on the P38a Range Rover was notorious for leaking air out of the reservoirs, but it could also be an electronic problem – that the car’s on-board computer has stopped talking to the suspension system. You may need to get it towed if the suspension is on the very bottom setting as it may not be safe to drive in that condition. Unfortunately it’s a common problem on that model of Range Rover – they were never built properly.
