Hi, I need a bigger car due to a change of job. I currently drive an 182 Ford Focus with 90000km. My mileage would be in or around 20000km a year, maybe a little over. I was wondering what sort of good, reliable, vehicle you would recommend that would have more boot space, be it an SUV/MPV or an estate for a budget of €20000. Thanking you, Gary
Hi Gary,
If you like the Focus, then perhaps a Focus estate would be a good upgrade? There are 2021 examples in the Carzone listings within budget and it drives just as well as the hatchback, but with a massive boot out the back.
You have loads of choice at that budget, even high-end models such as the Audi A6 Avant and BMW 3 Series Touring are available, if you're willing to put up with high-mileage cars.
We'd certainly recommend an estate over an MPV or SUV, and you're on the border of whether diesel or hybrid is the best bet. If you spend a lot of that mileage at high motorway speeds then you're probably better off with diesel still for now.
