Check that the cam belt has been changed at 130,000km (on a petrol model) and if you can hear a misfire it’s usually down to faulty fuel injectors. Check for oil leaking from the sump, and all the electronic systems are pretty fragile to check to make sure everything’s working. Knocking noises from the suspension usually means that a drop-link need replacing. I don’t think you should need to spend more than about €5,000 on one. Possibly even less.
