What to look for on a Mazda6?

Hi im looking at buying a mazda 6 2 2 diesel, it has 131000 km on the click. What should I look out for or ask the dealer?

Our answer:

Hi Ann Marie,

They have a known issue with stretching timing chains, so look through the receipts for previous work done for evidence of this. Make sure all the warning lights work and then go off when the car is running and insist on a detailed service history.

If you do buy the car, I'd strongly recommend you have the gauze in the oil pick-up pipe in the sump cleaned out and an oil change, as that can be a source of oil starvation to the engine, ultimately leading to serious issues further down the line.
