They’re pretty solid but don’t dare buy one without a full service history and preferably from a main BMW dealer. Blue smoke from the exhaust means the turbo is blown, the electronic handbrake can stick on (and is hugely expensive to fix) and the infotainment system can be fiddly. Aside from that though, there’s not much to worry about.
