The Mk2 Focus has had various problems reported throughout the years, such as cooling fan issues, problems with the 1.6-litre TDCi engine and more, but most of these should have been long rectified by now on an example that’s 11 years old and which has done such high mileage. About the most common thing you might still experience on a vehicle of this vintage is a worn turbo: check for excessive white smoke during acceleration or cold start-up.
