I’m going to assume you mean the model of Astra that’s just been replaced? The one that went on sale in 2009? If so, they’re generally quite rugged, but you need to watch for leaking door, boot and windscreen seals, dodgy heater and ventilation fans, a heavy or juddering clutch, faulty ABS sensors, vibrations from the brakes and squeaking suspension (which is the anti-roll-bar bushes).
