Thank you for your answer Shane. I was just wondering if I haven't driven the car that I won with the northern registration would I still have to pay vrt & nox. It has been in Ireland since August 2020 and was brought to me via a pick up truck and also if I sell it would I have to do anything before selling. It is not in my name yet, I have a v5 form and history asking with the vehicle. Thanks again in advance, Laura
Hi Laura,
Technically speaking, you should have already declared the car in the State and brought it for an inspection at an NCTS centre to pay the VRT etc. You are supposed to do that within 30 days of the car arriving. There are penalties for not doing that on time and yes, to register it in Ireland you would still have to pay the VRT etc. as mentioned earlier.
