There are many reasons that a stop-start system won't work, including ambient temperature, coolant temperature, etc. The most likely cause of the issue is a battery that is in poor condition and hence the ECU won't operate the stop-start system so as to protect it. We'd advise you bring the car to a good mechanic to have it looked at to confirm that is the cause, as there could be other reasons.
