What to do with my Eos?

Hi my engine died and it's been sitting a few months about 8 at least while looking for an engine it still looks fine and now after none for ages there are now 3 suddenly it's it too dicey now or would it matter The car was perfect otherwise but I hadn't done the timing belt can you advise please it's a Volkswagen Eos

Our answer:

Hi Jackie,

You'll need to do some calculations as to whether it's worth repairing the car or scrapping it. It's a very big job to replace an engine, so get a cost for that, but if the car has been outside unmoved for eight months it's likely going to need a lot more work besides, such as new tyres, possibly new brakes and more. Get a good mechanic to come have a look at it and give you an estimate for the work before you do anything and then work out if the car is going to be worth anything at that stage.
