What to do about young driver insurance?
Hi I wonder if you can possibly help us, my daughter works in Fethard at Coolmore Stud, she would like to buy a car but is only 19 yrs old, she does have a Irish Drivers license, but the Insurance she was quoted on was very high, do you have Insurance people that you recommend when buying a car from you? You came recommended on a FB group. We are looking for something cheapish, and a third party insurance. Kind Regards Caroline

Hi Caroline,
We don’t have specific insurers that we work with, but often the best thing to do is to get in touch with a really good local insurance broker. They often have access to deals that us mere mortals can’t get, so it’s always a good idea to have a chat. It would also help if the car she’s using has an engine that’s as close to 1.0-litre capacity as possible. Sadly, as ever in Ireland though, no matter what you do, insurance for young drivers is always going to be colossally expensive.
