What starter car will I go for?
Hi, I've just got my learner's permit and am looking for a decent starter car. Budget not exceeding €4k. Actually around €3k. What should I go for keeping in mind the insurance, road tax etc? Things I'm looking for is boot space as I have a stroller to carry around and also drive quality.

Hi Justin,
I think your best bet might be to go for a 2003 Nissan Micra. They’re actually surprisingly nice to drive, solidly reliable (and safe too – a key consideration) and the boot is a decent size so fitting a stroller in shouldn’t be a problem. The basic engine was a 1.2-litre petrol, so even on a learner licence your insurance shouldn’t be too awful.
