What small safe cars would you recommend for a clueless-about-cars-newly-licenced driver living in Dublin 6 with a new born and toddler to seat in back and room for big buggy in the boot? Limited budget so used cars only option.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Ruth,
It sounds like an impossible circle to square (and I’m a parent so I know) to find a small car that’s spacious enough to take a big buggy. You’d be amazed how many cars fall down on that one. The best bet is to go for a compact estate. The best ones out there are the Skoda Fabia Combi or SEAT Ibiza ST – both are based on the same box of mechanical bits, both are reliable and safe. The Ibiza is slightly safer (it’s a newer design than the Skoda and gets five EuroNCAP safety stars to the Skoda’s four) and both should swallow any buggy you care to throw at them.
