hi , just bought a uk skoda vrs octavia with dsg box ,thought its tax was 390e, i now realise its 570e, can you tell me why the skoda vrs with manual box is 390e and it seems the dsg box is 570e, or is it something to do with it being a uk car?...are irish octavias with the dsg box 570e too, cant seem to find out.....thx alan
Hi Alan,
We've been onto Skoda about this and the most powerful Octavia RS230 has CO2 emissions of 142- to 146g/km, depending on whether it's a DSG or manual. That puts it well within the €390 tax band. Did you get a certificate of conformity with the car, stating it's CO2 emissions? Has it been modified and re-tested? It certainly should be in Band C as long as it's a standard car.
