What new car will I go for?
Hi there, I'm looking to buy a new car, but I don't know what car to go for. I drive a Honda Accord 1.9 petrol and I am looking to downgrade to smaller engine something more economical. Any advice on what car to look at?

Wow. So much choice that it's kind of hard to know where to start. Ok, so I'm guessing that if you've been driving an Accord for a while you like Hondas. Have you thought of a new Civic? I just happen to be sitting in one right now and it's lovely - beautifully built, sweet to drive and I'm getting a genuine 65mpg from its 120hp 1.6 diesel.
Fancy spreading your brand wings? How about a Skoda Octavia? The comfort and reliability of a Passat in a slightly more compact, much more affordable body. They start at just under €20k for a basic one but mid-twenties gets you one with a bit of luxury and the Combi estate is massively practical.
Or perhaps you want to seriously down-size? How about a MINI Cooper? Small, fun and really good value these days. If you need a bit of space in the back there's the new five-door version too.
