That’s a bit of a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question as, in Ireland, the insurance loading is primarily on the driver, not the car, and will depend hugely on your age, your profession, the cleanliness or otherwise of your licence and many other factors. As far as the cars themselves are concerned, Irish insurers are generally still wedded to the ‘larger engines are evil’ theory, so anything with a 1.0-litre engine will generally be the cheapest thing to insure.
