What is the best value seven-seater automatic to run? Average yearly mileage. I don't mind paying higher road tax for a more reliable older model.

It depends what you want to spend and if you actually need seven seats. We found a Honda FR-V (which has six seats, but is very spacious) with an auto box for just under €5,000 which would be as reliable as the day is long. Likewise there are a couple of Honda Stream seven-seaters with autos out there for under €10k. Ultra-reliable, those. What something a little more recent? We found a nice 2012 Ford Grand C-Max 2.0 TDCi diesel auto for €22k - nice car and solidly built.
