To get the cheapest possible insurance (and the word cheap here is used in the most relative possible terms, as it’s still going to be eye-wateringly expensive) you need to stick to as close to 1.0-litre engine capacity as possible. So think VW Up, Skoda Citigo, Polo 1.0, Corsa 1.0, Nissan Micra etc...
