If it’s just the two kids, then you probably don’t need to go down the MPV route – which is possibly something of a relief. As a father of two myself, I think you’re best served by a decent-sized estate. Mid-size stuff like the Kia cee’d SW or Ford Focus Estate give you a decent bit of room, but I’d be looking for something a bit more spacious than that. How about a Skoda Octavia Combi? We found a Greenline 1.6 TDI diesel for just under €16k. Something a bit bigger again? A Volkswagen Passat could be ideal – lots of space and really high quality. We found a 2.0 TDI BlueMotion from 2011 for €15,950. Or a Hyundai i40 Tourer? Again, we found a 1.7 CRDi diesel for €15,900.
