What estate or large hatch would you recommend with a budget under €6,000?
My son who lives in Munich needs a car mostly for weekends as he is into mountain biking and skiing. What estate or large hatch would you recommend with a budget under €6,000?

Hi John,
Given that he's into skiing and the winters in Munich can get pretty slippery, I'd recommend he goes for something with four-wheel drive so the best thing to go for is a Skoda Octavia Combi (estate) - either the standard model with 4WD or the slightly taller Scout. Something from around 2004-2005 should be within budget and the boot's easily big enough to take a mountain bike.
