Hi, I've seen a Nissan primers 2008 1.6L petrol for sale in a mechanic garage, he's going to put it through NCT for me first, it's gathering dust and taking space in the garage, he's only asking for ?? 1000, it has around 220K miles, is it a case of too good to be true? Also what do I need to watch out for with those cars, I don't know much about cars. Thanks for your help
Actually, that could be a bit of a find. Ok, it’s a 20-year old car, so everything will need careful checking and I’d want to make sure it’s been properly serviced as well as put through the NCT. Check items such as the brakes and tyres especially carefully. The Primera was always a pretty rugged car, though. You need to check for corrosion and rust, especially around the boot lid, and check that the engine has had regular oil changes. The timing chain needs constant attention and adjustment too. Beyond that it was always something of a cracking car to drive so could well be worth a look.
