
Was going to try buy a C-Class Merc, maybe 2010 to 2012, but everyone says to run a mile from them; what do you think? I prob don't have the budget for an E-Class.

No, I wouldn’t avoid it – there are just a common couple of faults to check for. Make sure the electronic key is working properly and that the car starts and stops without hesitation. There is also a common failing of a crankshaft sensor that drops the engine into ‘limp home’ mode. It’s a simple software fix, rather than a massive mechanical problem though.
