You could go the obvious route and there are some classic seventies Chevrolet Camaros and Ford Mustangs to be found right now, some beautiful examples too. You could do a Sammy Davis Jnr/Dean Martin job on it and buy the cheapest Ferrari you can find but it still won’t be cheap and you’ll have to spend extra on the priest outfits. For our money, we’d go down the Rolls route – we found a gorgeous-looking €5,500 Silver Shadow. With that 6.75-litre V8 engine it’s never going to be slow, but more importantly you’ll be able to do the Cannonball in the lap of luxury.
