What can I expect to get for my BMW?
What can I expect to get by private sale for my BMW 1 series 131 plate 116 D Sport? It's in good condition, I paid extra for leather interior and has 37000 km on the clock. Been offered some pretty rubbish trade in deals and looking to hopefully sell to switch to ix35 of similar year and mileage

Hi Keira,
You have to remember that what dealers offer takes account of what they already have on the lot (if yours is the third 1 Series they've taken in this week inevitably they're going to offer less for it, for instance) and also will be around €1,500 to €2,000 less than the average value so as to leave some margin for profit when they sell it on.
You also need to remember that paying extra for extras at purchase time doesn't always add up to extra value at trade-in. The second hand market cares less for options and toys than it does for condition, history and price.
All that said, I reckon your car is probably worth in and around the €17,000 mark.
