What big diesel estates should I look at?
Hello, I really like estate cars and I have presently a 2003 Ford Mondeo LX 1.8 petrol model. I am now hoping to change this year for a diesel model again I do really like the Mondeo estate. My budget is not the biggest but I'm hoping to get a 2009 car. Can you recommend what engine is really good in the diesel model and also your expertise please on other makes and models - the bigger the space the better.

Hi Michael,
It's hard to go wrong with a big old Mondeo estate. Reasonably reliable, good to drive and massively spacious - just go for the 2.0 TDCi as the 1.8 can be troublesome.
Others well worth looking at are Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Avensis and Opel Vectra (an undersung big, useful estate).
